"I remember observing a reporter interviewing a group of youths at the center and asking them how they thought they could get beyond the violence in their neighborhoods. One rough-looking young man who had been slumped in his seat, raised himself up, thrust his hand in the air and yelled, "I'm going to college." It was one of the many times in the past three years observing the On Point for College Program that my eyes filled with tears."
