Overview
The Launch Pad Advisor provides intensive, individualized support to a cohort of high school seniors who have not yet developed a clear post-graduation plan. Through relationship-building, career exploration, postsecondary planning, and barrier removal, the Advisor helps students identify meaningful pathways to college, career training, apprenticeships, military service, or direct employment.
Using a cohort-based model, the Advisor delivers year-round guidance that empowers students to overcome personal, academic, financial, and social barriers while building confidence and preparing for successful transitions beyond high school. The Advisor works collaboratively with school districts, families, employers, workforce partners, colleges, and community organizations to ensure every student has a viable postsecondary plan.

Responsibilities
Student Advising and Case Management
- Manage cohorts of high school seniors lacking post-graduation plans.
- Build trusting relationships through consistent one-on-one coaching, group advising, and workshops/presentation.
- Develop individualized Postsecondary Success Plans for each student.
- Monitor student progress toward graduation and postsecondary enrollment or placement.
- Maintain accurate student records, case notes, and outcome documentation.
Postsecondary Planning
- Guide students through exploration of colleges, career and technical education, apprenticeships, workforce training, military options, and employment opportunities.
- Assist students with college applications, admissions requirements, and enrollment processes.
- Assist students with FAFSA completion, financial aid applications, scholarship searches, and financial literacy.
Career Development
- Conduct career interest and pathway assessments.
- Help students explore careers aligned with regional workforce demand.
- Work collaboratively with team to connect students with experiential learning opportunities, including job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships, and employer tours.
Barrier Removal
- Identify barriers preventing student success, including transportation, financial hardship, housing instability, childcare, technology access, food insecurity, mental health concerns, and family challenges.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up with partner organizations.
Cohort Programming
- Plan and facilitate workshops/presentations on career pathways, financial aid, college readiness, workforce opportunities, and life skills.
Partnership Development
- Maintain strong working relationships with school counselors, teachers, administrators, employers, workforce agencies, colleges, and community organizations.
- Represent On Point for College at community events, school meetings, and workforce initiatives.
Data and Reporting
- Collect program outcomes and maintain accurate data in organizational databases.
- Track student participation, persistence, postsecondary enrollment, employment placements, and program success metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Workforce Development, Student Affairs, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted where appropriate.
- Experience working with high school students or young adults.
- Knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, career pathways, or workforce development.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel throughout the service area.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating with schools and community partners.
