SYRACUSE, NY— On Point for College today announces that it has received a Day of Service grant of $110,394 from the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency for volunteering and service.

Awarded to 29 organizations across the country, this highly competitive grant will support volunteer activities on the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. This is a continuation of a grant awarded to On Point in 2019 and will support On Point in its multiyear effort to recruit and train over 100 new volunteers across seven Central New York counties.

“Volunteers have been a critical component of On Point’s success since the very beginning. They make it possible for us to do the work we do. From transporting students to and from college to helping prepare and connect students to career-level employment – none of these services would be possible without the support of our volunteers. We are grateful that the Corporation for National and Community Service recognizes this and has chosen to continue their support of our program,” said Sam Rowser, Executive Director of On Point for College.
