Position Title: Part-Time Temporary Career Action Plan Advisor   

FLSA Status: Non-exempt                                         

Effective Date:  ASAP 

Job Responsibilities: The Career Action Plan (CAP) Advisor focuses on assisting students and graduates in transitioning to degree-related occupations in the workforce. They provide students with one-to-one assistance in aligning career interests with academic decisions and successfully pursuing career opportunities. Activities include assisting students in preparing and revising resumes, assisting students with securing internships/job shadowing opportunities and employment, and conducting career readiness workshops. The CAP Advisor will visit campuses throughout New York State, presenting career success strategies and connecting On Point students to on-campus career services. They will communicate with students and graduates via phone, email, social media, and face-to-face, and conduct presentations in the community and at On Point for College student events (e.g., pre-college orientation). The CAP Advisor will perform other related duties as assigned. This position is part-time and would last until about October.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelors Degree and 2+ years of experience working with young adults, the unemployed, and/or career coaching. Experience engaging employers a plus. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, may travel and be available to work occasional evenings and weekends. 

Proficiency with MS Office programs including PowerPoint.  Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills. Passionate about On Point for College’s mission.

Position Title: Part-Time Shuttle Driver 

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt                                        

Effective Date:  ASAP

Job Responsibilities: The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students, staff and parents in On Point for College vans, personal vehicles, or rental vehicles. In this highly visible role, it is important that the Driver maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. The driver will welcome each student with a smile as they transport them to on-campus tours, placement tests and to and from college, operating On Point’s passenger vans safely and efficiently. The Driver will report accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or damage to the Program Director. They will inspect the exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior lighting, air conditioning or heating, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, etc. prior to driving the van. And they will ensure that both the inside and outside of the vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled at the end of each shift. They accurately complete student sign-in sheets if no advisor is present, and help to transport supplies, materials, etc. for various On Point events (e.g., Celebration Dinner, Golf Tournament). The Driver will perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: The Driver must be 25 years old or older, possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be available to work evenings and weekends. The Driver must be able to safely operation a vehicle for up to 12 hours in a day, and to help load and unload materials. The Driver must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous manner in keeping with the curbside philosophy. Lastly, the ideal candidate will be passionate about On Point for College’s mission.
