Title: College and Career Success Advisor - Two Positions
Status: Fulltime Non-Exempt
Location: One in Syracuse, NY and one in Utica, NY

Responsibilities:

Note: On Point is currently seeking two College and Career Success Advisors. One for our Syracuse location and one for our Utica location. The job descriptions, responsibilities, and application link are identical for both roles.

On Point for College is seeking a College and Career Success Advisor who will focus on assisting students with getting into college or vocational school, graduate, and transition to a related occupation in the workforce. The Success Advisor will provide one-to-one assistance in resolving financial, academic and personal obstacles to starting college or vocational school. They will perform retention services on campuses throughout New York State by presenting success strategies and ensuring students take advantage of campus services. Lastly, they will help connect students with On Point's Career Services team, to help align student career interests with academic decisions and support the successful pursuit of career opportunities. 

Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of work experience with young adults, financial aid, college admissions, and/or the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, be able to travel 2 to 3 days a week and be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Title: Office Assistant  - Two Positions

 Responsibilities:

Note: On Point is currently seeking two Office Assistants. One for our Syracuse location and one for our Utica location. The job descriptions, responsibilities, and application link are identical for both roles.

On Point for College is seeking an Office Assistant who will maintain the office environment by answering phones, filing, and performing special projects such as direct mail campaigns, and other office-related work. The Office Assistant will help in special events planning for students and supporters. They will also perform administrative duties including faxing, emailing, copying, printing orientation materials and new student packets, filing, etc. They will greet all visitors to the office, take in donated items, and perform errands that assist daily functions such as trips to the post office, Staples, etc.  They will enter data into the student database and run reports as requested. They will place office supplies purchase orders and maintain office equipment. They will help purchase student supplies and maintain an organized inventory of supplies. They will rerform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

The Office Assistant must have an associate’s degree and 2+ years of work experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience performing clerical, administrative and reception duties. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, may travel and be available to work evenings and weekends for work events. Proficiency with MS Office programs including PowerPoint. Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.

Position Title: Data Analyst
Status: Fulltime Non-Exempt
Location: Syracuse, NY
Start Date: ASAP

Summary: This position is responsible for effective data collection and data maintenance, ensuring that programs are maximizing utilization of data systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Working across teams to develop a coordinated data strategy including platform choices, common reports to generate / build into tools / automate, and meaningful mechanisms/processes for improving data and visualizations
  • Developing a deep-understanding of the broad range of data sources within the organization, and seek mechanisms to make data-comprehension common across the organization
  • Entering and maintaining high-quality data within our client and services management systems
  • Reviewing and cleansing data within our client and services management systems
  • Working across all programs to review issues of data quality to improve processes, systems, or training to address issues of internal data quality
  • Train new and existing users on various databases (CRM, donor database, etc.)
  • Designing and delivering key performance reports and other reports for a broad range of stakeholders
  • Coordinating with the development, communication, and grant writing/reporting team to review and address data quality issues around reporting, outreach, and planning
  • Assisting with and managing quantitative (survey) and qualitative (interviews, focus groups, check-in surveys, etc.) data collection efforts to ensure high quality administration and analysis.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and collaborative team-player
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and excellent follow through
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn various business intelligence and analytical tools
  • Ability to identify useful information in data sets and suggest conclusions that support decision making
  • Experienced with database management
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Passionate about the mission of On Point for College
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, may travel and be available to work evenings and weekends for work events.
