Position Title: Career Advisor - Utica RISE SCOPE

Report to: Program Manager - SCOPE Utica RISE
Position Overview:
The Career Advisor supports the employment and career readiness components of On Point’s SCOPE program. This role focuses on helping participants identify job pathways, build employability skills, and connect to immediate work or certificate-based opportunities. The Career Advisor also cultivates relationships with employers and partners to create meaningful placements aligned with each participant’s SCOPE plan.
Position Responsibilities:
Programming
- Conduct monthly one-on-one check-ins focused on employment and resource updates.
- Facilitate registration and onboarding for SCOPE participants.
- Deliver career readiness and job search coaching sessions.
- Connect participants to entry-level employment, trade programs, and social services.
- Partner with local employers and training programs to create placement pipelines.
- Support participants with resume development, interview preparation, and application completion.
- Contribute to group facilitation and event coordination, including job fairs or site visits.
Administration
- Maintain accurate participant and employer data in On Point’s tracking systems.
- Draft professional communications and follow-up documentation.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Program Manager to review outcomes and resource updates.
- Track participant milestones, placements, and certifications.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in workforce development, career services, or youth programming.
- Demonstrated experience in job placement or career coaching.
- Strong digital literacy (Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, AI tools for organization).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate participants.
- Knowledge of Utica’s workforce and community resource landscape preferred.
- Trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to working with young adults.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; evening/weekend flexibility.
Salary:
- Part-time (20 hours per week) at an FTE annualized rate of $44,496.69.
- Total Budget Allocation: $22,248.35 through July 31, 2026.
