Position Title: Access Advisor - Utica RISE SCOPE

Report to: Program Manager - SCOPE Utica RISE

Position Overview:

The Access Advisor supports On Point for College’s Second Chance Opportunity Program with Education (SCOPE) – a six-month intensive cohort program helping young adults in Utica develop educational and career plans for sustainable life change. The Access Advisor provides individualized coaching, group facilitation, and administrative support to ensure participants successfully navigate personal, academic, and systemic barriers to achieving their SCOPE goals.

Position Responsibilities:

Programming

  • Serve as a consistent presence and co-facilitator at all group sessions.
  • Lead individual 1-hour SCOPE Plan check-ins and ensure completion of participant goals includingb skill-building plans for 15-20 participants.
  • Recruit and engage eligible youth from Utica, especially West Utica and Cornhill neighborhoods.
  • Support facilitation of workshops on literacy, conflict resolution, and resource navigation.
  • Coordinate participant communication through phone, text, email, and social media.
  • Provide referrals and connect participants to community, educational, and social service resources.

Administration

  • Maintain participant data accurately in On Point’s tracking systems.
  • Draft program communications, reports, and updates.
  • Meet weekly with the Program Manager to review progress, metrics, and participant needs.
  • Assist with event coordination, transportation logistics, and stipend disbursement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience working with youth or young adults in education, social services, or community programming.

  • Facilitation and coaching experience with small groups.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations and digital materials.
  • Detail-oriented data tracking and documentation skills.
  • Trauma-informed mindset and experience working with individuals affected by violence or poverty.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; evening and weekend availability required.

Salary:

  • Full-time salary at a rate of $44,496.69 with competitive benefits.
