Position Overview:
The Career Services Program Assistant supports the daily operations of On Point for College’s Career Services Department by providing administrative, programmatic, and logistical support to ensure the smooth delivery of workforce readiness, career exploration, and employment services. This position assists with coordinating activities, tracking student progress, maintaining records, and supporting staff in connecting participants to internships, training, and job opportunities.
This position is funded by a new contract with ON RAMP. As such, funding is confirmed through June 30, 2026. Successful performance in this position will allow funding to continue for subsequent years, with potential for growth.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, culturally diverse, and experienced in providing outreach, communicating, and effectively operating within urban communities. They must also be committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Career Services team, including scheduling, data entry, and document management.
- Assist with coordinating career workshops, employer engagement events, and student trainings.
- Maintain accurate participant files, records, and program data in accordance with confidentiality and compliance requirements.
- Communicate regularly with students, staff, and community partners to support referrals, follow-ups, and job placements.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other materials to support program evaluation and grant deliverables.
- Support outreach and recruitment activities to promote career services and workforce development opportunities.
- Manage logistics for transportation, supplies, and event coordination as needed.
- Monitor attendance, participation, and outcomes for program participants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Career Services Department.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Some experience in administrative support, workforce development, education, or youth programming preferred.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, and data management systems).
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Special Requirements:
- On Point program completion is considered a plus, and alumni are encouraged to apply.
- Must possess an unrestricted and valid New York State Driver’s License.
- Must maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to meet students and support program activities.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.

Salary:
- $19.23 per hour / 40-hour work week / 9:00am – 5:00pm / Monday thru Friday / position runs from start date through June 30, 2026.

Positions receive a laptop or desktop, mobile phone, scanner, and portable printer to use so staff can work from other locations (school districts, community centers, etc.).
Holidays include Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday after. We also offer paid leave from 12/24 thru 1/1 for full-time employees.
