Position Responsibilities:

In partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will spearhead development efforts, with primary responsibility for implementing and managing these development efforts:

  • Execute an effective program for donor solicitation, recognition, involvement and stewardship,
  • Design and implement programs to identify, contact, and cultivate potential donors (individual – major, corporate, sponsors, planned giving, board and alumni engagement) for the organization.
  • Develop an annual fund-development plan including timelines, objectives, and benchmarks to ensure funding meets or exceeds budget.
  • Continue work with Capital Campaign 
  • Attend a variety of events to demonstrate On Point’s community engagement and sustain On Point’s reputation and marketing presence.
  • Prepare strategies for the use of marketing and public relations, including newsletters, to support development efforts.
  • Lead the planning and execution of On Point’s annual Celebration and Golf events.
  • Track and manage the emerging prospect pool to develop reports and monitor program results.
  • Build and adapt programs to a point of sustainability, including development of a three–five year comprehensive plan for fund development.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Officer and assist with submission of grants to foundations, corporations and other entities.
  • Develop strategies for solicitation of major gifts,
  • Develop and distribute annual report and impact statements.
  • Supervision of development and volunteer staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree with 3 + years of experience in fundraising, public relations, or marketing with strong emphasis on sponsorship development and promotion.
  • Proven success in securing ongoing financial support and project funding.
  • Strong knowledge of and relationships with donors in the CNY region.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, organizational and computer skills are essential.
  • Experience interacting with marketing or community affairs offices of companies, media, and other external communities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be available to work evenings and weekends for work events.
  • Travel may be required.

Salary:

  • $80,000 per year / 40-hour work week / 9:00am – 5:00pm / Monday thru Friday, some nights and weekends as needed

Holidays include Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday after.  We also offer paid leave from 12/24 thru 1/1 for full-time employees.
