How to Prepare
- To complete the FAFSA and TAP applications it is necessary to have access to certain financial and identity documents for both the student and parents. A full list of the required documents can be found here.
- Both the student and one parent will be required to create Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) account. FSA ID accounts are a username and password combination you will use to login to the FAFSA application. They are free to create and you will need to use the same accounts each year that the student attends college. To create an FSA ID, each person will require their full name, social security number, date of birth, and an email address. Only one FSA ID can be linked to an email address, so each person will require their own email address. You can find some helpful information about creating your FSA ID here and you can create your actual FSA ID here.
