On Point for College has received a grant from The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to support work that helps students remain enrolled in college and continue making progress toward graduation.
The grant will strengthen On Point’s ability to stay closely connected with students throughout their college experience, especially during periods when students are most at risk of stopping out. Many students face their greatest challenges after classes begin, when financial pressure, family responsibilities, and uncertainty about navigating college systems can make it difficult to stay enrolled.
By maintaining consistent, long-term relationships with students, On Point helps students navigate challenges as they arise and stay focused on their education so that temporary setbacks do not derail their progress toward graduation.
“We’re grateful to The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for making it possible for us to stay closely connected with students when college becomes harder than expected,” said Sam Rowser, Executive Director of On Point. “When students are balancing classes with real responsibilities outside the classroom, having someone they can turn to can make a meaningful difference as they work toward their goals.”
The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation recently announced more than $142 million in grants to organizations across New York State to strengthen systems of care and address the needs of New Yorkers facing significant challenges.
